Listing Description:
Bethany Centennial Garden is a special place located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, created by the Sisters of St. Martha. The garden was established to honor the historic and religious significance of the site where the Bethany Motherhouse once stood. The story of the Martha congregation is narrated through interpretive panels and the use of salvaged landmarks from the Motherhouse building, such as the bell tower or the steeple. The garden offers green spaces, walking paths, and several contemplative areas.
The Sisters of St. Martha welcome the larger community to enjoy this unique place. The garden was officially opened on September 21, 2021, exactly 100 years since the congregation moved to this beautiful property. Whether you’re interested in history, religion, or enjoy spending time in beautiful outdoor spaces, Bethany Centennial Garden offers a unique and enriching experience.
