Listing Description:
Columbus Field is located at the eastern end of Main Street in Antigonish. It is a year-round recreational spot and the primary venue for The Highland Games and many other events in Antigonish. The field offers a variety of activities such as walking trails, a fully equipped playground with a waterpark, a track for walking or running, quiet trails through the woods, and courts for tennis.
The local Knights of Columbus, Antigonish, Council 1105, purchased the field back in the late 1940s for family and community to enjoy for many years and events. A monument near the fence line area at 121 Main Street is a testament to their contributions. Today, Columbus Field is a place enjoyed by many families on a summer day.
In August, the field is the venue for the Nova Scotia Summer Fest, an all-ages event that features a variety of food and beverage vendors onsite during the festival. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Columbus Field offers something for everyone.
